About Background Ministries |
How do we approach music ministry?
Worship here is about making melodies in the background, so that people can meet with God in the foreground. Here is a place where a nation out of touch with God can fall in love with Him all over again. In purity, in intimacy, and in authenticity we find the throne of God open to all people.
The Platform
We are God's platform. He is the dancer. Without a sturdy platform, a dancer cannot perform their dance. But yet, when the show is over, people do not say, "What a great platform!" They say, "What a great performer!" That's the way we like it.
John 3:30

Background Ministries is a rapidly growing music and arts program. We strive for excellence in everything we do because we believe that God deserves our best and more. If you have a talent and want to use it in an exciting ministry we would love to have you. A word from the Worship Pastor
Music and worship are two different things. Music can be one of the greatest expressions in modern corporate worship. It pulls you out of your shell and resurrects the God-given emotions that so many of us deny we have. But worship... that is something deeper. Some define it as a lifestyle, and it is. Some define it as a response to something bigger, and it is. Here at Victory our only goal as worship leaders is to be a vessel. We do not put on a show, and we do not sing for ourselves. If God can pour into us what He wants to give, and then allow us to give it back to you, we have done our jobs. In the words of Chris Tomlin we say to God, "Send Your holy fire on this offering. Let our worship burn for the world to see... it's not for us, it's all for You." -Ryan |
